What is FastTrack© Mobile?

FastTrack Mobile is a Sales Force Automation solution designed for car dealers to empower sales professionals with powerful tools and information to grow revenue faster by improving customer satisfaction. FastTrack supports professionals that are frequently on the move—whether on the road, walking the lot, or at auction, and demand instant access to critical information about vehicle pricing, availability, locality, and specifications.

FastTrack is ideal for dealerships that recognize the importance of improving customer satisfaction and service excellence levels through personalization. By using FastTrack, dealers can:

- Dramatically increase closure rates
- Improve customer service
- Reduce administrative overhead to maximize resources, and
- Integrate key systems and operations

Is FastTrack a wireless or mobile solution?

FastTrack is a mobile solution that integrates a number of wireless features, including: downloading images of any vehicle in inventory, wireless email, and wireless printing. FastTrack supports a host of protocols and wireless technologies including 802.11b, 802.11g, Bluetooth, and infrared. Information downloaded to FastTrack, such as vehicle inventory data, is stored locally on the handheld. This enables sales professionals to search for vehicles based on a variety of customer requirements during a test drive, on the road, at home, or any location at the dealership. Specifications on every car of interest can be sent wirelessly via a personalized email to the customer—automatically generated by FastTrack.

Does FastTrack support WiFi?

Yes. FastTrack supports two common wireless protocols: 802.11b, which provides greater range, and 802.11g, which provides greater data transfer speeds over shorter distances. FastTrack also supports Bluetooth, infrared, and WiFi networked DeskJet and LaserJet printers. Since large amounts of information are never transferred in FastTrack, we recommend setting up wireless networks that use 802.11b. This protocol provides extensive coverage up to 150-200ft. Wireless coverage can be doubled or tripled by using wireless booster antennas connected to an access point or router.

Our dealership doesn’t currently have a wireless network. Can you help us install one?

Yes. Codex can install your wireless network, or collaboratively install a wireless network with your IT department or technology outsourcing partner.

What printers are supported by FastTrack?

FastTrack supports most manufacturers such as HP, Canon, Lexmark, Epson, and Brother. Below is a summarized list of supported printers:

- All HP DeskJet, LaserJet, and Mobile Printers
- Lexmark Printers
- Canon i80 and i70
- Canon BJC-80/85 and BJC-50/55
- Epson Stylus, ESC/P2, and 24-pin LQ compatible printers
- Brother mPRINT MW-100, MW-120, MW-140BT
- IPC PP-50 - For iPAQ 3800, 3900, 5400 & 5500 series
- Pentax PocketJet 200 & PocketJet II

How does FastTrack integrate with dealer management systems?

It’s easy to leverage the data that already exists in your dealer management system or at your data acquisition vendor (such as AutoUpLinkUSA and Dealer Specialties). All FastTrack needs is your data exported via a text file, and sent to Codex. Handheld devices running FastTrack Mobile then go out to Codex Web Servers, and automatically download your dealership’s inventory data to your handheld devices. Codex Corp. can also “poll” information from your DMS—or automatically schedule processes to pull data from your DMS’ inventory database. Dealerships must provide a valid User ID, password, dial-up information, and any required client software in order for Codex to poll from your DMS. A partial list of common DMS vendors:

- Reynolds and Reynolds (ERALink)
- Arkona (Dealer Management Suite)
- ADP (DealerSuite)
- Universal Computer Systems

Our dealership uses Reynolds & Reynolds’ ERALink. What parts of ERALink do you require access to?

Codex requires permission to access screens 7601, 7602, and 7603.

From start to finish, how quickly can we be up and running with FastTrack?

A. Codex can install FastTrack within 7-14 days. Codex will then administer two days of training with system users. Additionally, Codex can also install, or collaboratively install your indoor/outdoor wireless LAN with your technology team or outsourcing partner.

How often is the FastTrack database updated?

FastTrack Mobile databases are automatically updated every 24 hours, providing your workforce with your dealerships latest inventory data. If any user’s inventory data has not been updated in more than 24 hours, FastTrack will automatically download your inventory data to your handheld.

How do FastTrack Mobile users synchronize data to their handheld devices?

FastTrack Mobile provides two convenient ways to synchronize data to your handheld: you can over-the-air sync using your local wireless network (WiFi) to automatically download your inventory data to your handheld as soon as you launch FastTrack. You can also synchronize your inventory data to your handheld device via Microsoft ActiveSync®. After installing the ActiveSync software, simply connect the cradle to any Web-accessible PC, and launch FastTrack. This will download your dealer’s inventory data.

Using your local wireless network to sync is recommended because it doesn’t require ActiveSync connectivity to a Web-accessible PC; also, synchronizing via WiFi can be done on the go, letting your users walk the showroom or go back to their desks without being physically connected to a PC.

How is FastTrack priced?

FastTrack Mobile is pay-as-you-go subscription software service. 12-month subscriptions include complimentary Help Desk Support (Phone and Web), technical support, software maintenance, and software updates and upgrades.

What do you mean by “on-demand?”

Codex helps you make better use of your resources in order to be more productive and profitable. You only pay for the users who subscribe to FastTrack, and it’s easy to add new users at anytime. That’s what we mean by on-demand.

Can we lease Pocket PCs?

Yes, you can lease Pocket PCs directly through starting as low as $20/month, per user. Dealer Protection Coverage is also available for $11/month, per user. Dealer Protection Coverage guarantees against loss, damage, or theft of your Pocket PCs.

What happens if our Pocket PCs are broken or stolen?

A. We know that accidents happen, and that in the automotive retail industry, high employee turnover provides challenges of its own. It’s because of these factors that Codex offers Dealer Protection Coverage for dealers who lease their Pocket PCs. Coverage is $11/month, per user.

Dealer Protection Coverage provides unparalleled peace of mind for decision makers, and includes:

Next-day Pocket PC replacement if a handheld should become inoperable

Complimentary Screen Protection Shields and replacement stylus pens

One-free battery replacement (per handheld)

Innovative "Break It or Take It" warranty: if you lose your Pocket PC for whatever reason (theft, loss, damage, etc.), we'll replace one Pocket PC for every five users at no charge, guaranteed.

Some restrictions may apply.

Does CodexCare also support technical problems with our Pocket PCs?
